Ponete the Short emerged as a way of promoting the use of digital cameras as a tool of expression, creativity and fun. For it was considered a contest that had an open call, inviting experimentation both those who already work in the format Short and those who feel curious and motivated to take the camera and capture a story.
When we started broadcasting, began to approach different proposals, students of various learning centers, which already had material and wanted to make them known. And while the call is extended, more jobs coming into our hands. And we understood that there was a lot of productions with which we had not had contact, productions made as part of learning processes, personal projects and work with a production level more complex than we initially expected.
appeared then the question ... what to do with such material? What to do in addition to those productions that were not included in the initial requirements of the festival? Our decision was to incorporate. As important as the Short Ponete not create competition, but to spread this particular mode of expression and create a space to share among colleagues and friends, as well as direct contact with the projections.
