One of the characteristics and traditional festivals in our city is the celebration of Santa Faz, a day of pilgrimage and meeting in which adults and children enjoy a very special day.
The tradition of going on foot to the monastery on the day of the Feast of the Holy Face is called La Peregrina. It performs the second Thursday of Easter. The pilgrimage starts from the Cathedral of St. Nicholas and the tradition that the pilgrims carry canes with a rosemary in the extreme and scarf the neck with the image of the Holy Face. We
to celebrate at school with our kids we made a small craft with them and we made our particular handkerchief with the image of the Holy Face which have colored and glued themselves. The scarves we've done with blue garbage bags. A special touch for a day very special.
Here are the photos.
